HERITY conference about communication

An international conference organized by the HERITY International and patronized by the President of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano took place on December 5-7 in Roma, Italy, Vatican City.

The 4-th international conference held by the HERITY International was about  communication of cultural heritage . Director General of the National Library of Lithuania, Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas delivered report “The Role of Communication in Building Cultural and Creative Industries” at the event. He, together with the specialist of Department of Communication and Information of the Vilnius University Library, Giedrė Gudauskaitė, presented benefits and opportunities of the virtual electronic heritage system development project in context of activities of the project partner – Vilnius University Library. Director of the Vilnius University Museum, Dr. Ramūnas Kondratas, co-ordinator of assessment activities for HERITY International certification of the Vilnius University (the first monument in Baltic states to be assessed for this certification), also took part in debates.

The Herity International Board meeting took place on the same days as the conference. Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas presented prospects of strategic partnership among Bibliotheca Baltica, Baltic Sea Library ir HERITY International here. The meeting approved the idea of consolidation of opportunities of the said organizations and institutions for optimization of cultural heritage quality management processes in the Baltic Sea region.
